What lovely art you have made showcasing humble stones that many people overlook. I am trying to get better at painting rocks and boulders at present, and your artwork is inspirational for me.

Thank you Bree for sharing this into my feed.

Thank you for your lovely comments. Takes time and patience, well for me anyway. I’m self taught, too lazy to go and have lessons. I’m sure you will produce something amazing 😊

What a fascinating collection of pebbles Sally. I have always been enamoured by their smooth form and fine patterns and the fact that they are billions of years old and shaped by the fine energy of water. Thanks for sharing. I feel like writing about them :)

You have such an eye for detail Sally. Your stones look very realistic and I know the time you must have invested in painting them. You have good reason to be proud.

These paintings are so good Sally. I didn’t even think of painting the stones but they look so pretty in these paintings that I might try one day but I keep on thinking about is painting a stone itself and doing aboriginal paintings on them. I’ve seen a few people have done it and they look so pretty. One day I’ll get to that. Thanks for sharing this with us. You are so good with your paintings. You should start your own gallery.

Thank you Neera, yes, I have seen stones painted and they can be quite effective. Have you seen the stones made into people? Some people are so clever. You are like my cousin and his wife, they say the same thing re galleries. And my eldest daughter and son say I should be making prints and cards. I’m happy doing what I’m doing, have given them permission to go ahead with that should they wish.

Wow! Cards and wall prints are great. Giving them as gifts to your paid subscribers would be a great idea.

That’s a nice thought Neera, but I don’t have any intention now or in the future to charge. I will write until the end of the year then I am taking a break, but not from you and those I follow.

Your stone paintings are gorgeous! I love the natural, calming feel of the earthy tones—sandy beige and slate grey. I've always been fascinated by stones, each uniquely shaped by nature over thousands or even millions of years. When we moved into our current house, we inherited a ton of rocks and pebbles. I ended up using some to pave a small sidewalk. Just like your painting, sorting and matching the stones by color and size, and filling the gaps, was a real labor of love!
